One of my clients said this to me the other day and it struck a chord.
Have you ever felt like this?
You were crushing your workouts, making amazing meals, and getting incredible sleep and then BOOM - life happened and you felt like you got knocked off the ladder?
Now you’re left standing at the base of it wondering how the heck you’re going to get back up there?
Maybe it’s a matter of unrealistic expectations.
The feeling that you “𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥” be up there! Since you were just up there maybe you should just hop up in one jump! Only to faceplant miserably.
Your expectation for yourself is to be back in the groove 100% right away.
However, if you were walking down the street and saw someone trying to get to the top of the ladder by jumping to the top rung, you’d probably tilt your head in confusion, right?
Why? Because your expectations would be that a logical person would climb the ladder one rung at a time to successfully reach the top.
So why does your expectation change when you’re the one at the base of the proverbial ladder?
How do you get back to the top of that ladder of badassery?
One damn rung at a time.
