You probably know exactly 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 to do.
You know the food you 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 eat, the weights you 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 lift, the sleep you 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 get, the water you 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 drink, the stress you 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 dissolve.
But you still find yourself struggling to take action.
You have the “𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵” and the “𝘩𝘰𝘸”. You may even have a really good “𝘸𝘩𝘺”.
But still your gym clothes collect dust while your netflix account is as active as ever.
𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐝𝐨𝐧’𝐭 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐲 𝐬𝐤𝐢𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐠𝐚𝐦𝐞.
Whether that’s in the form of money, a date on the calendar, or social accountability.
It’s easy to continue to put something off when nothing is holding your feet to the fire. 🔥
We tend to be more motivated by the fear of losing something than the joy of gaining something.
So while you may have really exciting reasons why you want to start a fitness journey like,
▪️ Living a life free of medications
▪️ Building confidence in your body
▪️ Modeling a healthy lifestyle to your kids
It just might not be enough fire to get you started or keep you going.
Instead, thinking about the fear of losing
🔹 Social status and approval
🔹 Credibility or likeness
Can be the spark that gets your ass out of bed at 5am for your workout!
Maybe you’re thinking, “𝘈𝘑, 𝘐 𝘢𝘭𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘺 𝘱𝘢𝘺 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘢𝘯 𝘟𝘠𝘡, 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘐 𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘶𝘨𝘨𝘭𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘺 𝘮𝘰𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘥.”
𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐟𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐬 𝐢𝐬𝐧’𝐭 𝐛𝐢𝐠 𝐞𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡.
Think about what you want to avoid and use that as your motivation and accountability.
For me, putting a date on a calendar, paying for a meet or race, and recording my journey is what holds my feet to the fire.
