Which of these 3 mistakes are you making?
A new year means new goals and maybe yours is losing weight before spring?
Whether you're just getting started or you've been struggling for a bit, there are 3 big mistakes you could be making that will sabotage your success:
𝐌𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞 #𝟏: 𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐨𝐨 𝐥𝐨𝐰 𝐨𝐟 𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬.
For some reason, this seems to be a controversial statement. Here's the thing, you will lose weight when you cut your calories, no matter how drastically low.
The problem is, your body is an adaptation machine. This means whatever calories you drop to, your body is going to adjust quickly. This makes continuing and maintaining weight loss really difficult.

Find the calories you're currently eating to maintain the weight you're at, then cut 100-200 calories a day for a week. Start there and slowly progress forward until you reach your goals.
𝐌𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞 #𝟐: 𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐭 𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐞.
If you want to adopt a new mantra, try "𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘨𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘧𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯".
Wanting to change every habit at once is admirable, but it's also hard as hell to maintain.
Workout 5 days a week, track everything you eat, get 10,000 steps, drink a gallon of water, etc.
What happens when you miss one time? You feel like a failure and give up entirely. Not good.
𝐓𝐫𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐝:
Start with one small, doable habit each week. You can compound the habits week by week and feel like a badass!
𝐌𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞 #𝟑: 𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐝𝐨𝐧'𝐭 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐨𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐬𝐞𝐭.
This is the biggest mistake that nobody talks about.
How you talk about yourself is how you will continue to see yourself. How you see yourself subconsciously dictates your actions. Your actions determine your success.
For example: If you joke to others about your weight, you continue to see yourself as fat. If you see yourself as fat, you subconsciously make choices to reinforce that belief (eat junk food, avoid exercise, etc). If you make the choice to avoid exercise and eat junk food, you'll delay your success.
𝐓𝐫𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐝:
Your mind is powerful AF. Use this to your advantage.
Every time you catch yourself having a negative thought about your weight, change the phrase. "𝘋𝘢𝘮𝘯, 𝘐 𝘭𝘰𝘰𝘬 𝘧𝘳𝘶𝘮𝘱𝘺 𝘵𝘰𝘥𝘢𝘺" ➡ "𝘋𝘢𝘮𝘯, 𝘐 𝘭𝘰𝘰𝘬 𝘴𝘦𝘹𝘺 𝘵𝘰𝘥𝘢𝘺".
Sure, you might not believe it right away, and that's okay. The power is in the repetition. Eventually, you will believe those words.
